PROJECT 3B: OBJECTS CONNECTION

We get to design a wooden L-shaped chair for Project 3B. Project 3B
was very special to me in two ways.
1.
It was our first project
working in groups. And I’m blessed to be able to work with my lovely team
mates, Mandy and Raymond.
2.
It was a competition at the
same time. The winning team gets to actually have their chair built out in real
for a new site in HBP.
The site which is still under construction... |
It started with group discussions for the concept and design, which
was something I never did experienced during the previous projects. It was nice,
being able to communicate ideas to create a design I would never be able to
produce by myself. But boy did we went through some arguments in the process,
as we were all standing up to our own ‘taste’, but it was all for the best of
the project.

And when we finally get to start produce the model. Unlike
individual projects where you can just hide somewhere and do what you have to
do, working in groups too means that we need to carry out the works in the
studio, and here comes the studio life. I experience my very first late night
in the studio, and went back reaching my hostel at 4a.m. Though I believe when
I look back when I graduated, this would only be a small case for me.
Our chair was named THE
FLOW. The theme was Unity, and what we tried to do was something modern and
simple (less is more, yeah!). And the special thing about our design is that it could be made in a single flow, like if you sketch it with a pen it could be done with just one single never-ending stroke. We too used a very bright orange to symbolize our youth and passion.
Overall, this is the project which I enjoy the most working at. Even though it was very rushed as we have our HBP orientation on going at the same time., but it was fun and we managed to work it all out.
Lesson: Three minds is better than one. Thanks to the collaboration and brain storming together, we created something that I would never have been able to do so on my on. Love you guys. <3
And here endeth Project 3B
